We discuss problems and issues with our trucks all of the time, I would like to hear stories of owners that have had Few or No problems with their trucks.

 

For example my truck has 115K miles and never had any waranty issues whatsoever and has the original brakes (yes, rear disc) hoses and belt, heck it still has the original spark plugs.

 

Yeah I know, its time for some maintenance, but the thing runs as good now as it did when it was new and the brakes are at around 50%.

 

The only problem that I have ever had was the transfer case was replaced @ 90K.

I have been my trucks worst enemy. most issues have been a result of something I did. Except for the rust. That's not my fault. And the issues my truk has had I can count on one hand. My fault or not.

Before this truck, I have driven mostly Fords, ( I still own 3) but this truck has been so good that I think that I have been converted.

 

I just want to be sure that I don't have an oddball, if lots of others have had as few of problems as me then I am convinced.

 

Don't take me wrong, I've had some good Fords, but this truck has been amazing.

Only thing I have had to do was replace the a/c compressor, but that was because the switch broke off the back and all the comrpessor oil leaked out, which caused it to go to hell in a hurry. Other than that, no problems. My '99 before this had 120k when the tranny went, but that was probably becaused I hauled too much with a 1/2 ton. It too ran great.

My wife is on her third Suburban and I'm on my fourth Chevy truck and we have never done anything but put gas in them, change the oil and replace the tires. I'm a believer.

2005 Silverado 1500 HD Crew Cab LT3 with Quadrasteer. (Knock on Wood) The truck has 35,390 miles on it now and other than the rear leaf springs making noise somtimes going over uneven terain the truck has been GREAT!!!!

I've never had problems with Chevy's in General.

 

'88 Beretta GT - 189,000

'95 S-10 (4.3L - 2WD) - 175,000

'06 Silverado Z-71 Ext. Cab - 680 miles so far

 

I know the Beretta isn't a truck but it was a Chevy and I had zero problems with that car and zero problems with my S-10. Change the oil and put gas in them.

 

Chevy hasn't let me down yet!!!

I've only got about 15,000 miles on my truck since I got it in March, but those have been a hard 15,000 miles. Probably at least 10,000 of those miles have been over very rough washboard roads, and I haven't had a single rattle, or problem develop (With the exception of the cheap General tires that came with the truck).

I've had my 06 CC Z71 4X4 for a whole two months with a grand total of 1500 miles and I love it....no steering problems, great on gas, and rides like a dream on the highway (which I find funny when people complain about the ride--I came from a 04 4X4 Tacoma and drive a 97 F350 at work--the Silverado is like driving a waterbed in comparison)

I recently traded my 2000 extra-cab Z71. Had 95,000 miles on it, all I ever did to it was routine maintenance. Changed Oil, transmission fluid, trans. case fluid, front and rear diff, and changed rear brake pads once. My two trucks before that were a 97' and a 93' ,Z71's as well, same story on those. I think my door latch was changed under warrenty on the 97'. Maybe, I've been lucky, maybe I stay on top of my maintenace. Who knows, so I just keep on buying GM and roll down the road. MMM

1996 GMC Sierra with 250,000 miles. I have not had 1 single problem. None. This truck still amazes me! It runs like its brand new! Transmission shifts great and it can still tow anything without an issue. I just hope my next truck lasts this long!

I had some minor irritants like a flapping noise on the passenger side. Somewhere around my muffler is rattling too that I will take in before the warranty goes out. I owned an S10 before my Silvy and only had one problem with it. The odometer light went out in it and had to be replaced. I don't drive my vehicles the easiest, yet I don't have much trouble with Chevy vehicles yet. To be fair, the Fords I have own I didn't have much issue with either. -Shoot2Thrill

      You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.

      You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
