Fan switch?

My climate control fan speed switch doesnt blow any air at 1. It works fine at 2, 3, or 4, with or w/o the air conditioning. Does this mean I need to get a new fan speed switch? Thanks guys, you're all the best.

Blower resistor pack, its on the fan where all the wires plug in, passenger side under the dash. Its like a 12 or 13 dollar part.

I have the same problem. Just wanted to know how hard of a job this is.

It's simple. You remove the same cover as when you change the cabin air filter. Just don't remove the bolt furthest to the middle of the truck, it's a PITA to get back in.

heck yea it is, i gave up. the cover just hangs there now.

Not that hard to put the screw back in. Push the screw through the hole and then flex the shroud so that you can see where the screws goes into the proper hole. Do the same for the second one.

 

Just replaced two blower resistor packs this weekend, both from 2002's.

 

Simple and the resistor packs from the dealer run $25 and look to be an updated design than the ones I pulled out.

 

Burn pattern on the damaged ones were exactly the same on both.
