There is a plastic cover to remove. Then two small bolts that hold the harness connectors if I remember correctly. Disconnect the negative side of the battery first so you won't short anything out. It takes just a few minutes to get it out. As far as the cluster, I have not done that but if you will do a search for "cluster" there surely would have been someone that has posted before.
urlookn22s Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 thanks alot... anyone else kno about the cluster??
urlookn22s Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 kinda... i didnt really find much... i just hope someone can post it up on here.. ya kno... cuz i hate my stock cluster ya kno!!
boomer 33 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Well, I took mine off years ago on another truck and it was not difficult, I just can not remember the process. But, I just started slowly puliing on edges, finding where they were attached and dealing with it as it played out. I think it just really snaps in place, but if you trash your connectors they "have more at the store". If you break your dash, forget I told you this. Also, don't perform the disassembly if you have had more then three adult beverages.
Radon Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 what you should do is go and buy a haynes book or one of the other brands. I've had one for every car/truck i've ever owned. if you cant find out how to do anything from these books you probably shouldn't do it IMO.
grayghst Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 If you remove the front trim on the dash (it should just pull right off). There are 4 7mm screws to remove and it pulls right out. There is a wire harness attached to the back.
