wiper height

i have a 98 gmc sierra and recently my buddy (who drives a 03 mustang mach 1) asked me what happened to my wipers. when i told him nothin and he was crazy he said they sat up way too tall and i needed to find a way to fix that... what im gettin at is their any way to make the wipers sit lower or adjust them to make them not sit 3 inches above the bottom of the window?

My wiper on the driver side sits way too high.

 

 

I pulled the wiper arm off and went to put it back on and it has to go that "too high" location because there is a notch that guides it in to that height.

 

 

 

Any way to lower them down???
