Trans temp gauge for a 2000 gmc

Can you add a trans  gauge to the stock dash of 2000 gmc pickup if so .What kind,how much and how hard is this to do??

JP Customs has the entire cluster like this one from a Denali.  They plug into the existing harness and the tranny temp gauge is 100 % functional with no other work needing to be done.  The cluster can be swapped out in about 15-20 minutes and only requires a 7 mm socket.  The only downfall is your milage will have to be programmed at a speedo shop or you will have to use a sticker inside your door jamb stating that the milage shown is not correct.  The price of this cluster is $220.

GM has tranny temp sensors in all of it's automatics. This is a plug and play modification. I installed a 3/4 ton gauge set on my 1500 Silverado and it works perfectly.

Here's a shot of the HD cluster I put in my 1500:

I cracked the lens on the original one and thought I'd just get the HD unit for the trans temp guage.  It works fine-like Shaners said it takes 15 minutes to swap them.  

 

I never bothered to get the mileage fixed but I ordered an odometer service sticker to put on the door.  Not a bad upgrade. The new guage looks alot better than the blank spot on the stock 1500 clusters!

Denali Cluster. Works great. This is one of the simplest swaps out there. Your truck is already wired, and plummed for this. You just need the Denali Gauge Cluster
