Biggest Tires on a Stock 2005 1500 Z71?

I have a stock 2005 1500 Crew Cab Z71. I have the torsion bars cranked to raise the front end about 1.5". What is the biggest tires I can get under it without rubbing? I am willing to trim the front air dam/bumper.

I cannot remember the exact ratio but I remember that it was the lower gear available. The 3.42 was the higher gear option.

Check the RPO codes, which are listed in the glovebox.

Then compare with the 'RPO Code Guide' link to the left on this page.

For a 3.42, the code is: GU6

For a 3.73, the code is: GT4

Thanks for the advice. I guess that tomorrow I will find out. I will make them moun the tires and see how they fit before I let them balance them. Then if they are too big, I'll go with 285s. The funny thing is that the 285/70 R17s were $25 more per tire than the 295/70 R17s.

I was told by Tire Discounters that cranking down the torsion bars will cause problems. Is this true? I too wanted to raise the front of my Z71 to level it with the back. Is 1.5" enough and is ti as far as I can raise it using the torsion bar adjustment?

Thanks,
