As of today at 5:00 pm, my check is in the mail to State Farm Bank to pay off my truck! By the end of this month it will be mine! I've managed to put about 35,000 miles on her since I got her 4 years ago, spent between $3500-4000 on repairs, she now has 108,000 miles and other then the slip yoke clunk, which will be repaired the first part of next month, as well as a big dent on the passenger 3rd door, two dents on the front bumper, and 2 huge scratches on the roof where the car wash brush wheel decided to dig into it, plus 4 blown radio speakers, she is doing ok. She will be paid off, gas prices right now are at $2.19 a gallon, I might just hang onto her for awhile.

Dude, I'm in the same boat! After about 3 years and 8 months of a 5 year loan, mine will be mine at the end of the month. With only 35k on the clock and your basic maintenance items, I'll be able to enjoy it knowing I have the title in hand. Ahhhhhh....feels so good.

P.S. My highway gas mileage jumped from 19 to 21 on my last trip. She's just breaking in.

Ah, yes...that feeling is great. I bought mine in February of 2002 and had a five year note that was to mature coming up in February 2007. I was able to pay it off this past July...7 months early! For some reason once it is paid off you feel the urge to take care of it even better than before (even tough I am anal about the maintenance and appearance). I just rolled over 90K - she still has several years left as a daily driver.

I just did the brakes, and I have big maintenance plans for 100k...all the normal fluids, filters, etc. plus new shocks, new plugs / wires, all new hoses, and a new belt.

I might even go as far as to replace the windshield (crack in it) and have the only two dings in it removed by one of those paintless dent repair places.

My tires have right at 50K on them...I should be able to get another 10K out of them before replacing them too.

The only other problem with it is that d**n steering shaft clunk...it is worse than ever.

Take it back to the dealer....my local service manager told me they had the green light from GM to repair those up to about 75K miles w/o any cost to you.
