2nd Gear Launch

I have searched and found some info, but I need to confirm this issue. I have the option of launching in 2nd gear by placing the gear selector in D2.

 

Is this suppose to be there??

Yes, the second gear launch is normal.

The second gear launch is there to help you control torque in low traction situation like starting on ice. Keeps you from just spinning the tires to easily. It's most useful for people with only 2wd.

I could've used this info this morning. It was very humid and the roads were very slick. My stock 245 width tires suck too.

FYI Most of the GM vehicles have this feature (except that crap that GM gets from Toyota rebadged)

Its also the default in case you have a transmission PCM/electronic problem.
