GM hesitation problem.

After all these years of GM engines having the problem with hesitation, why haven't they fixed the problem yet? Is there an inexpensive way to fix the problem with aftermarket items? I hate to say it but I have owned 4 GM's and they have all had problems with hesitation upoon acceleration, but never had the problem with the 1 ford ranger I had.  Even my friends complain about the hesitation problem with GM's.

Sorry, I guess I should clarify, the hesitation I'm talking about is when you accelerate.  when you hit the pedal, you can count to 2 before the truck starts to move, I guess "throttle response" would be a better choice of words.

I have never had a hesitation or response problem on mine. That is the first I've heard of it.
