Muffler Swap

I am wanting a nice deep, loud tone with no/minimal cab drone. Can i get this with just a muffler swap? I know a nice cat back would be ideal but i am just wanting something temporary until i graduate (year and a half). What are my options for a muffler that will bolt right up with no custom fabbing or anything...im hoping to just be able to cut out the old muffler and install new one with some hanger brackets.

oh yea, I have a 06 5.3L 4x4 ext cab

I guess 50 series Flowmasters are pretty deep with no inside the cab noise. I dont know, I have 40 series, but thats what everyone says. Im sure someone has a magnaflow that also fits your needs.

I would go for a Dynomax Bullet , but that will require some fabrication. I know Hooker Headers sells "direct-fit" Aero Chamber mufflers, but I have no idea how they would sound on a 5.3 liter. You could also bolt-on a Flowmaster Super 40 with an extension pipe.

My advice, just pay the extra money for a muffler shop to weld in a bullet for you. Considering that a bullet only costs about $40 (and sounds much better) and the other two cost over $80, the overall difference won't be that much.

I know that when I went to the 'custom muffler shop,' they allowed me to hear all the different mufflers when they took off the stock system. Give it a try.

I'm having a hell of a time trying to find part #'s of mufflers that will bolt right up.

Why will a bullet muffler sound so much better? i have heard good things about the flo 50 Delta flo series

if you dont know part numbers, what is the inlet/outlet of stock and also do i want center in/center out???

I have a direct swap magnaflow, the only fab work i had to do was an intermediary pipe since the stock muffler is the size of a small car.

*edit* BTW it cost around $100 to do the whole thing and here is a clip inside and out

that sounds pretty nice. what does it sound like when you are accelerating (not flooring it) from outside the truck?

do you have a part #? also, do you know what the inlet dimension is? People have said that our stock exhaust is 2.75", but i don't see aftermarket kits that match that.
