Bigku Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I was wondering where i should mount my amp. I have a 2003 Chevrolet Ext. Cab silverado. I have a a downfire probox and it takes up all the room underneat the seat, so if anyone could tell me where to mount the amp and if yall could give me some directions or pictures how to do it, that would help me out greatly.
frdfandc Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 You can mount it behind the rear seat back on the rear wall of the truck. That is where I will be mounting mine once I get everything sounding the way I want
r8rs4lf Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I mounted all of my audio on the rear wall of my '04 SS. I cut a piece of 1/2" plywood to the size of the rear wall, carpeted it black, and glued it using some industrial type glue to the rear wall. I didn't want to drill any holes in the rear wall of my SS. Then I mounted everything to it. I also did the rear seat fold down trick while I had the seat out. Just make sure you cut those tabs off the bottom of the seat or make sure you mount your audio gear away from those tabs. I didn't and scratched the hell out of my brand new MRA-D550 theater Alpine amp. Here is my installation thread over on SSS.com
