07 Classic Crew Cab

Hello all,

I am looking at an '07 Crew Cab 4x4 (Classic) with the 4.8L, 3.73 gears and the towing package. My question is what type of performance could I expect out of this truck? I don't tow an awful lot but do occasionally haul around a John Deere 1020 tractor (4000 lbs) with a 16' bumper pull trailer (probably about 2000 lbs empty). Would this be too much to ask of this pickup? I would like to get the current body style because I'm not too crazy about the new '07's. The MSRP on this truck is $30,350 before any rebates or discounts. Anybody have any idea what I should expect to pay? I'm currently driving an '05 2500 Dodge regular cab but would like more passenger space. I would really appreciate any comments, especially those of you who have this setup.

Thanks,

I think it should do the job just fine. I sometimes tow our JD 5300 with Front End Loader (About 6,300lbs.) and trailer (About 1,700lbs.) with my '04 5.3L with 3.73.

It does pretty good towing that kind of weight. I only tow it about 200 miles total about twice a year.

I would think you should be jsut fine.

Thanks for the help guys. I haven't decided what to do yet. The truck I have now (3/4 ton Cummins) handles that weight like it isn't even there. However, the extra room in the cab would sure be nice. Thanks again for the help.
