No 4 wheel drive when warm

My 1993 K2500 4 wheel drive works fine when I just start it in the morning but if I drive 30 miles the front axle does not engage. I have replaced the actuator but still change. Anyone know where the switch to actuate the front axle is and how do I replace it? Or any other ideas why it works when cold and not after driving.
