NeXuS1 Posted June 1, 2001 Posted June 1, 2001 today at a private party lot . we found a GMC Sierra 2500 had all the nice features my dad wants so we got the keys and started it up.. it had a what sounded like a lifter tap or knock and had a miss. but the rest of the truck as in great shape, no leaks. etc etc. so we called the guy and he says that "its always had that" and "all big blocks have that same thing" so i wanted to see if he was talking out his.... you know..
Guest Friz Posted June 1, 2001 Posted June 1, 2001 I don't care who it is or what they're saying, but a lifter knock was not "always there". Big blocks do not knock or miss anymore than small-blocks do. Ask them if it is okay to take it to a certified GM mechanic and see what the reaction is. My bet is that it won't leave the lot unless it is sold.
gmdieseltech Posted June 9, 2001 Posted June 9, 2001 ditto on what friz said. If this is the truck with the hard shifting trans you mention in another post- find another truck. Happy Motoring, David [email protected]
NeXuS1 Posted June 9, 2001 Author Posted June 9, 2001 this was a different truck, 97, the other was a 91
