How many miles on your piston slapper?

The 4.8 and 5.3 have been around long enough for people to rack up some serious miles. GM says that piston slap will have no effects on longevity. For those that have the piston slap, how many miles do you have? I have 84K on 2002 Suburban.

I have 135K kms on my 2002. That's approximately 84K miles.

Funny...same as yours! ;)

I only have 63K on my 99 Silverado 5.3 but the piston slap didn't really start until about 40K. It may be just me being more aware of it, but it has gotten louder this year.

The truck sits outside and cold weather really brings it out but it take a few seconds for me to hear it and then it only lasts for about 10-15 seconds. Once the outdoor temps hit 55 or so, there is no noise at all at cold startup.

Piston slap does not go away when the engine gets warm. It is a case of the piston skirt, due to being short by design, slapping the cylinder wall due to worst case tolerances between the piston and cylinder. The 2 conditions are similar but CSK goes away when the engine is warm PS dosen't.
