oem tires wore out at 14,000 miles

My original tires on my 05 HD are wore out at 14,000 miles. I have to buy new ones and I am not buying the Bridgestone original replacement tires. The garage where I do business will get me anything I want. Any suggestions? I am keeping the original size. Just need an all season tire with the E load rating and something that will last longer than 14,000 miles.

The company my grandfather works for has a large fleet of HDs and they swear by Cooper tires. Personally I'd just get BFG A/Ts for the traction. There is a stock size in that lineup with LR-E.

I've heard good stuff on the Michelin M/S as well. My Revos have 35k on them and look like they'll last to 40-50k. Perfectly even wear and remarkably square shoulders too, which suprises me since most of my miles are on twisty local roads. $$$ though.

if you want something with good life deffinetly go with the Michelin's. have only seen and heard good things about them. I have also heard cooper tires are good. on my 2500HD i have Firestone Steeltex AT radials. Im know rolling on about 56,000 miles with these from the factory tires and still have some tread left.

hope this helps

I have no experience with the other tires, but I will only put Michelin LTX M/S on my truck.  I am very pleased with them (4th set) and have ZERO complaints.

The fact that I buy a new truck every three years was a factor in my tire choice. i priced the original replacement Bridgestones and found them to be quite pricey. My theory was not to buy something that only gave me 14,000 miles at a very high price. i went to the local garage where I do business and bought the cheapest 10 ply tire he had. I know they are not a national brand. They are Aurora's. I just got them today and they should go another year until I get my next new ride. I'm sure they are not as good as Michelin's or BF Goodriches but they cost a lot less. If I was going to keep the truck I would have gone that route.

I've got to tell you my truck has 3100 miles and at the going rate my rear tires won't last to 5000 miles cause it's too hard to stay out of the throttle and roasting them lol
