I'm not in HR, but I have been, many of a times, part of hiring selection and review for entry level, peer, to VP level during the past 15+ years where I work.

A lot of resumes come through from HR if the applicant states they are interested in a specific job opening, ie. applicant places position number on application. As for "blind" resumes, they are set aside if they do not include an application either written or web. Exclusion would be for solicted mid/upper manager, director or vp position.

The "blind" resumes are only requested from HR if the preliminary run through of the applications are exhausted without even a glimmer of prospect.

What questions ya got?
