I'm assuming you got the light that stated it was time to change your oil? If yes-Turn you ignition key to run (do not start) and immediately pump the gas pedal 3X. Turn off key. You should now be reset.

I was wondering how to do this. When I bought my truck used, it did not have the owners manual

if it's a dic (driver info center) using the streering wheel controls scroll to engine oil life and hold down the arrow key (sorta looks like an enter key) till it resets

Don't immediately turn the key off. I have a 2000 and I have to wait after pumping the gas about 10 seconds then the light will blink a few times then go off. Now you can turn the key off. At least that works for mine.
