Is this a dash cluster problem ?

Hello,

Great forum, plenty of helpful info.

Anyways, I picked up a truck I had my eye on for some time.

It's a beautiful '04 Sierra super crew short 4x4 5.3, loaded with all but the roof.

It had about 68 k miles on it when I bought it, have had it for 7 - 8 months now.

Ext warranty has just gone off of it and now I am seeing that the speedo gage is stuck sometimes, and sometimes works, and sometimes shows high.

I ran a search in the forum here and found that it sounds like a dash cluster issue.

But all other digital info is still showing properly like mpg, average speed, tank mileage and such.

Does this still sound like a cluster issue ?

Yep, the steper motor is going bad in the cluster. Only way to correct is to replace the cluster with either new or re-man. You will also have to have it reprogrammed.
