01hdcrewcab4x4black,

If it is the original paint, rubbing compound and following up with a good coat of wax will keep it shiny for a while.  I normally use 3M Professional wax.  But any good reputable wax would be good.  (Don't want to start another Zaino thread.  hehe). Since the original paint on those models were just color coats, might be careful how often you do rubbing compound.  It might rub through the color coat.  After rubbing compound it is really shiny or just sort of a dull shine(hazy reflections)?  If it is a dull shine might want to check the paint thickness to make sure it is not getting too thin.  The paint has a tendency to get real thin on the roof, the hood and the tops of the fenders and doors.  If it is just a dull shine, wax will not help tremendously.  Probably time for a repaint.  Just my $.02. :D

I'm surprised that no "Zaino Zombies" have posted in this thread trying to convert another.  Almost like Jehovah's Witnesses!  :D

Anyway, on the vehicles that tend to get a lot of scuffs, light oxidation and scratches, I use 3M "finish restorer's wax.  They may have changed the name on it lately so what you want to look for is the slightly more abrasive wax.  The 3M Professional that carguru mentioned above is better suited toward the shine portion which you stated you already have covered.

But before using this, be sure to remove the prior wax coat with a strong cleaner.  Something like dishsoap will accomplish this.  From there you can use the "finish restorer's" wax.  but do not put it on too heavily otherwise you'll never get it off.  It is a thicker formula than the regular wax.  This stuff has always worked wonders on my Tahoe and also works great on plastic surfaces and things like bug deflectors and window louvers.
