My latest ride...

My truck is back in the shop because there is a "timex" in the new Transfer case...  (it ticks the faster you go when it is engaged) and because the tranny is now acting up.  My tranny issue has been described as an intermittent nuetral or a second gear start.  The engine revs from a start and sometimes the truck slowely moves and sometimes not at all.  Then all of a sudden it will slam into 1st gear at about 2500 rpm.  It does this a couple times a day, and it doesn't seem to matter if everything is warm or not.  I hope they can duplicate it.

The rental they gave me from Enterprise Rental Car was a Cavalier.  (at least it was GM this time).  I gave the agent a ride back to the shop and gave him a little grief saying I could have bought 3 of these stripped Cavs for the price of my HD and had some change left over.  He tried to upgrade me when we got back, but they had 28 rentals go out today and all that was left was a Focus, Neon and a 2-door Sunfire.  I told him if my truck wasn't fixed tomorrow, I wanted a bigger/nicer ride!!!  (I hope my truck will be fixed...   :D  )

Shaners, I can't believe that.  Hopefully your truck is fixed tomorrow, I would accept nothing less.  At least you didn't get stuck with a F*rd this time!

At least you get a ride.  We get a ride back to your house or work.  If they know they will have your vehicle for more than 3 days, they will give you a rental.  ???

My dealer says if they have to keep it overnight then GM will pay for a rental.  My dealer doesn't have personal "loaner" cars and they use "Enterprise" for all their cars.  If you bring a truck in for service they try to get you a truck to use.  They asked if I needed a truck and I said "not really".  I expected to get a Malibu or Impala, but I got a Cav with crank-up windows and an auto tranny....

Shane, I feel your pain, I was in a cavy for a month when my truck was in the shop.  They are not made for tall people.  My knees were pressed against the dash w/ the seat all the way back.

I had my 2000 Chevy in the shop a couple of times..  I would just go talk to the dealer I bought it from and end up taking his new demo truck.

Never had the new one in the shop yet..  We'll see.  I would B*&^* somthin fierce if I didn't get something comparable.

All-right Shaners, see you have "moved up" from the F-150!! ;)

In all seriousness, hope they fix you up right now w/ the HD.  I'll be curious to know what the "intermittent neutral/2nd gear start" issue was.

That looks like my car Jon!!!!  The dealer just called and I can take the Cav back this afternoon.

Shane, that's not something to brag about :D

That's actually the rental car from vegas, the one I had wasn't quite as ugly, it was blue and a base model.  Tilt wheel would've been nice, I swear if someone hit me in that thing my legs would be broken.  It was even a PITA to unlock the doors since it was so close to the ground, after the 2nd day I just didn't lock them at all.
