Hi everyone! About 2 months ago, I got some Flowmaster Exhaust w/ 4inch tips and I now am starting to notice that I have light smoke and water coming out of the tips when I rev the engine. The "change engine oil" light came on about a week ago so I'm guessing that why there's smoke?.... but how do I stop the water from coming out? Thanks!

Ryan,

I don't believe that there's hardly a chance that the exhaust smoke your seeing has anything to do with your Flowmaster exhaust. And, the same I can say for the "Change Engine Oil" light...probably not related. I'm guessing that where you live it has gotten significantly colder outside in the last 2 months since you've installed the Flowmaster system. Now, the thing about a new dual exhaust system, like the Flowmaster, compared to the stock system, is that the 2 pipes with a total cross sectional area (and exposed surface area) of probably 4 times that of the stock flows better...gets the exhaust gas out quicker. And, the new system will run alot cooler compared to stock...because in part to the lower back pressure and also in part to the increased surface area (exposed to the cooler outside temps of the last 2 months) of the pipes. What's happening is that your exhaust sysem is running much cooler than the stock, and that is why you are seeing what you are calling "smoke", and water. The smoke is actually condensing water vapor that your engine is making. The reason it's condensing? Yep, cooler exhaust! And the water....? Bingo! More condensed water! Now, go change that oil and filter in the engine!
