I have a 2004 tahoe 5.3 4x4. recently it threw a p0446, so I cleared the code and I'm waiting to see if it comes back.( I've heard that it could be caused by a loose gas cap or a plugged purge solenoid vent valve filter.) Either way it's been about 2 weeks and it hasn't come back, but it also hasn't run the evap system diagnostic. I'm wondering how long this could take? The truck is out of warranty (40000 mi.)But I've been told that the emissions warranty goes up to 50000 mi. If it's still covered I'd like to get it in on chevy's dime and not mine! Any info would be greatly appreciated!
