Diesel additive

What diesel additives are DMax owners using? I've heard Stanadyne is supposed to be good. Anyone used Power Service? If so, any bad experiences? I've found it at Wallyworld but haven't located Stanadyne locally. Thanks!

Since the changeover to ULSD, I started using BG Diesel Fuel Conditioner with DPL (Diesel Pump Lubricant) part #2276. It was recommended by my dealer and mechanic.

AMSOIL's Diesel Concentrate is a good additive. They spent over a year developing it due to the release of the ULSD ultra low sulfur diesel and is approved for the new 07 diesel engines. I have been selling a bunch of it.

LUCAS injector cleaner..

use it a work on all of our diesels and gas motors. we buy it by the gal. when changing a fuel filter we put 1/2 LUCAS and 1/2 fuel works great. 1 gal is good for about 100 gal of fuel

I also am using Howe's right now. Whatever you use, it CANNOT have alcohol in it. Alcohol buffers water (absorbs it into solution). Fine for your furnace in your house, BAD for your truck.

Well, i can tell you this - both my Power Stroke and Duramax run quieter and produce less smoke with Diesel Kleen in the tank. Can I tell a difference when i don't run this additive - absolutely. The main reason i run it, though, is to keep my injectors and pump lubed and clean. The new ULSD is suppose to have a lubrication additive already mixed with the fuel to compensate for the reduction in sulfur, but this Diesel Kleen is so inexpensive and readily available that i prefer to keep using it as extra insurance. I've been using this stuff since 2005 and I have never had any issues with injectors, etc. Try a bottle and let me know what you think.

I would recommend Power Service, there is nothing wrong with using it. There may be better additives out there, but until you find them, PS will do just fine.
