More than a whine

The past few days the weather has been cold cold cold. . . Lots of new noises. . .

On startup the engine cranks fine but as soon as it busts off a horrible loud ripping sound for just an instant. . .kinda like I'd imagine the Air Conditioner compressor to sound if it was locked up and forced to spin free. . .

My other noise is a horrible whine at about 30-40mph when just driving in that free wheeling state. . . I know they make a sound but what I'm talking about is that normal sound on steroids. . .It is worse when cold finally going away after about 45 minutes or full operating temp. . .

Anyone heard these noises?? Going to the dealer in the morning but we all know about noises. . . Especially deaf mutes listening for them. . .LOL. . .

Just joking guys. . . But not about the horrible noises. . .

I think the noise at startup is the starter and now my whine is louder and pretty much constant. . .

Only 3000 miles on my new truck. . . 07 Silverado Classic Ext Cab 4.3 4spd auto 4L60E I think is the number. . .I love the truck V-6 and all. . .

Now the whine is loud enough and happens just about all the time I think they should be able to hear it. . .

Man these guys are idiots. . . I left written instructions concerning my noises. . . Told them that drive 40mph or less. . . among other pertinate instructions. . .

The guy calls today telling me all is fine. . .Said they took her out on the highway and drove 20 miles at 55-75mph and heard nothing. . .

I guess I have to let it break in order for them to see because they sure as hell can't hear. . .

This is not some little hard to hear noise. . .I've got neighbors who hear it inside their houses as I drive down the street. . . I left the truck one more night so they can take it out cold when the noise is loudest. . . I told him to not start it and warm up the cab, don't turn the blower on high but to drive off at speeds under 40 and listen. . .If he can't hear it them I'll show it to them when I go to pick it up. . .
