Tahoe 2nd row seat - why no latch on the left side?

In the 2007 Tahoe (and maybe other years), the left (driver) side seat on the second row does not have a LATCH attachment, unlike the center and right side seats. Anyone know why?

My guess is because you can't see the child from that seat if its just the driver and child. Meaning the driver is driving and if the baby seat is attached to the seat DIRECTLY behind the driver, the driver can't glance over to look at the child. From the middle and passenger seats the driver can glance over and see the child.

I HOPE that made SOME sense. But thats my guess.

Well, I would agree with that, but when you've got three kids, and putting them all in the 2nd row, it would really be nice if they would put the latch attachment in all three seats. The anchor is there (for those with two captain's chairs)...just put the attachments in the seat as well. Seems like a no-brainer.

Especially since you consider that the shorter side (that you would flip up to access the back) is on the passenger side. If there's a spot where you would expect to not put a child seat so you can access the back, it would be that side.
