Shock Upgrade?

I have a 02 Silverado Ext Cab LS 5.3. Thinking about new shocks and tires (BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A) to be a little more off road friendly and hopefully add a little height. I don't need a lift kit. I drive the freeway in Los Angeles mostly and head to the mountains for some fishing whenever I can, just trying for a better ride overall. Any ideas would be great

Go with Bilstein shocks and if you get TA's, go for the TA KO's, they're way better.

iv'e got an 00' and im having trouble finding the blisteins for my truck. have you found any yet?

Thanks for the reply. The KO's are what I've been looking at just left that part out. Sure are expensive I guess you get what you pay for. I've also been looking at the Bilsteins, hopefully this weekend I'll be able to pick up a set.
