Weird Gurgling Sound and lashy transmission

Hi guys I have a couple of strange problems.

My 04 Silverado 4.8 with a manual transmission has a strange sound. when I accelerate from a stop it sounds like there is something bubbling until i get to about 2500 rpm. The sound comes from the area behind the radio. i can't figure it out and neither can the dealer. Does anyone have an idea?

Also when the truck isn't warmed up yet, pushing the clutch in results in a really loud clunking sound accompanied by lurching. It isn't my shifting, I swear!!!!!. It happens if you are at a a stop and in neutral and just push the clutch in. I like my truck and it is going to be used as a commuter so any solutions to these annoying problems are good ones! Thanks in advance for any advice

The bubbling could be air in the cooling system. I ended up having to have the system purged a few times and then the heater hose connections at the firewall replaced. Solved my problem eventually.
