Power Seat Problem

Well, I got my truck 2 days ago, and I seem to have found the only problem with the truck that I somehow missed when looking at it. My truck is a 2003 Chevy Silv. 2500HD 6.0 4x4, Long bed Crew Cab, LS trim with 33,000 miles on it. I have the power driver seat (manual recline, power forward/back, tilt front, rear, and up/down). The seat goes forward and back fine, and the FRONT of the seat cushion tilts up and down fine, but the rear of the cushion doesnt move when you pull/push the button, thus the seat does not raise up or down either since the rear part doesnt work. There is no motor noise when I mess with the lever, and the manual lists only a circuit breaker that I can see, no fuse. I assume it cannot be the circuit breaker for the whole system since parts of the switch are operable. Is there any way to test and see if the motor for the rear section of the seat, and the up/down portion is working or blown without just taking paperclips and playing with connections? Really trying to avoid frying something.. :banghead: Anyone have a diagram for the connector at the switch to show me which pins to jump? Anyone know the price on a new switch or a part number?

Thanks in advance. Id rather not take the truck in to a dealer and pay a 50 dollar deductable for the warranty the first week I have the truck if I can avoid it. If the parts cheaper than 50 bucks I can just replace it. Its not a big deal, just a nit picking thing since its newish to me, plus my fiance' cannot drive it without raising the seat higher.

Hey Camarofanman...I don't know the answer to your question but I'd say call your salesperson. If you just bought the truck in the last few weeks they should take care of that w/o you paying the warranty deductible. It's worth a try at least. I wouldn't think twice about asking my sales rep.

Good luck.

My father was my sales rep :flag: Another dealership for the company he works for traded it, and we went and looked at it the next day and signed the paperwork. I am just gonna take it to the dealer. I told him what was wrong, he said wait untill 1 month passes (otherwise they charge the dealership) and dont try to fix it myself, cause they warranty is there for a a reason.
