Ooga Horn W/one Wire

So I have an ooga horn, haven't tried it out yet. It only has one wire, I'm guessing it's for power. Will it be grounded when it's bolted to my truck? I don't know much about electronics, thanks.

Yes it will be grounded but you need to go through a relay just like the OEM does.

That horn should be grounded when you bolt it on.

If you mount it to something that is not chassis ground,

then just run a #12 lead from the horn mounting bolt to

a good chassis ground point. BTW, a relay is a must.

 

Also, you should remove the paint on the contact surface.

thanks, that's what I thought...I already have a relay setup from my airhorns, which i'm going to replace

sounds like an old horn.....as long as you mount it on a metal surface that should ground it, if you mount it elsewhere just make a ground wire from the mounting bolt to another metal surface that is grounded. Good Luck...............
