MadFish Posted August 25, 2001 Posted August 25, 2001 Heres my '71 'Cuda. I know she isnt pretty. Once I get her back from the body shop. I'll start getting her put back together and get some better pictures of her. Heres my Dads race car. It sits most of the time now. But, after I graduate I'll get him to get it out to the track more often.
Frank S Posted August 25, 2001 Posted August 25, 2001 Man I love some of those old Mopars, your Cuda included. It looks like it has a lot of potential to me. Keep us updated on the progress.
NewbieZ71 Posted August 25, 2001 Posted August 25, 2001 20 years ago you could have said it isnt very pretty....now it doesnt matter because its so cool and has big PO! POTENTIAL! I would love to have one of those, or a 69 Challenger. Good luck with it!!
Chev4Ever Posted August 25, 2001 Author Posted August 25, 2001 Nice 'Cuda... Too bad they dont make them like they used to.. They werent fancy but they would knock the socks off of most of the production cars today.. I m hoping i ll get my Camaro before christmas this year so i can work on it over the winter.. Good luck with your car.. Steve
chevy4x4trucks Posted August 27, 2001 Posted August 27, 2001 there is no other power like that of a 440 6 pack.
MadFish Posted August 27, 2001 Posted August 27, 2001 Chevy4x4trucks, and thats what I have in the garage waiting to go in. I am also going to order a Tremic 5spd to put behind the 440-6. But, first I have to clean the engine compartment and get that painted, before the motor goes in. Im build building it into a Pro-touring car. I am going to paint it a late 90's Ford Blue with a black interior. I have a Dana 60 Im working on, thats going to replace the 8 3/4 rear thats in the car now. I should have the car done in a year or two.
Pastmaster Posted August 27, 2001 Posted August 27, 2001 My mom had a Coronoet with a 440 and a 727. I wish I had it now! Great looking Cuda I've got a 1959 361 I'm tearing down and rebuilding, hopefully for a Ram Charger or a Ram. Ever read: ED Hamburger's HI-Performance Parts for 360's and 340's? That's an awesome book.
Black Dog Posted August 29, 2001 Posted August 29, 2001 Screw that Mopar stuff. How fast is the old man's '67 Chevelle. Looks like it should be in the 9s.
MadFish Posted August 29, 2001 Posted August 29, 2001 It runs low 10's with the 377 thats in it now. But, we have a 468 blower motor waiting to go in. That should drop the car into the 8's at least. Right now we just need to find the time to get to the shop and put it in. The car is sort of going to be restored when we get the motor in. Plans are to rewire the entire car, new interior, paint job, take all the aluminum out and redo that as well. We're also going to rebuild the rear end. The car wont see the track again until 2004, because I wont be here to work on it for him.
MadFish Posted September 7, 2001 Posted September 7, 2001 Yeah, I think its me. I'll go ask myself if its me or not;)
