4l60e Rebuild Kit

I can get a decent buy on a rebuild kit for a 4L60E but I don't know if it will work in the trans in my 99 Silverado 4x4.What,if any,differences exist in the various models of these transmissions that I would need a rebuild kit specifically for the 99 and up?

From what I can see the kits are all the same as far as gakets and clutch plates go.

...and you might find that newer kits actually have a better sunshell assy (usually breaks after 100K from metal fatigue)..

 

I know the newer 2004 and up SS assy's are made from better / stronger materials ...

pre 95 are the same, post 96 are the same unitl the last few years. You will be safe with any kit related ot the 96 and later.

My early 1993 4l60E sunshell has over 235,000 miles on it and hasn't broke yet. Maybe if people would quit doing "stupid" stuff with their transmissions maybe their transmission would last as long as mine. Power braking and full trottle acceleration at every stoplight doesn't help in making a transmission last, you know.
