So i need to empty the back of my cab. I removed the seat just fine, but i haven't quite figured out how to remove the silver bar things that the seat bolted to.

Does anyone know what i am talking about and how i can take them out? I really am not wanting to cut them out, more work then i care to take on. The backseat will never be used...ever. I am keeping the truck till i die...probably gonna be buried in it.

I had a 99 C1500 classic body style which I believe is the same as your 97'. You need to remove the plastic trim pannels surrounding the square metal posts the seat bolted to. Then you will have access to the bolts holding in the seat support post assembly. You may have to remove quite a few trim pannels to be able to remove the panels that hide access to the bolts you are trying to remove. I had my whole interior removed for the installation of audio system wiring and soundproofing, minus the dash assembly when i removed my seat support posts.
