Crack On Passenger Side Mirror

Howdy gang.

 

I had started a topic about a month ago about a hairline crack I found on my '06 2500HD's passenger rearview mirror.

 

I took it to the local Chevy dealership. At first, they weren't goin to replace it under warranty. I talked with their service manager and he had said that he has seen that several times before. They replaced it, under warranty. Truck only has 7300 miles on it.

 

They ordered a new lens and were getting ready to replace it when they realized, it wouldnt fit! The internals (wiring/switches were different). They ordered the new lens from the truck's VIN. They asked me if I bought it new (yes), if I had put on an aftermarket mirror (no, would have voided warranty for sure then), or if maybe the dealership where I bought it (they drove it from Vermont to Maine) had accidentally damaged it. I said that I didnt know on that. So, they had to replace the whole mirror assembly.

 

Anybody have any similiar experiences like that?

LEE.....Seems they were blowin' smoke up yer butt !!!!!!!!!!!!

Replaced the mirrors/ordered wrong part.............

What a bunch of BS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Gm has been putting those exact mirrors on since 99 !

 

Anyhoo......They replaced 2 sets of heated mirror glass on my 04

with NO questions asked and under warranty to boot !

 

Some dealers are great......some suck !........geo
