Auxiliary Input

hi, I've got a 2002 chevy silverado 1500 ext-cab and was wondering if anyone knew of an easy tutorial or could give me some advice on the easiest way to install an aux input. I'm wanting to install this so that I can easily hook my ipod in and play my music as well as other devices with a headphone jack.... without buying a tape player or another cd player. THANKS in advance :banghead:

Hi ian, your actually going to need to buy another CD player for that auxillary input. Sorry but stock systems do not come stock with them and they are not something that you can just add to your system.

Or...You know...Instead of doing that...He could just buy one of these adapters and call it good.

For the aux input Wingnut suggests, it has a note stating: "Please note that the slave unit must continuously be playing for the AAI-GM9 to work". Does that mean I would need a tape in my 02 Yukon's slave tape deck, or just the tape deck must have power?

I've heard mention of replacing the tape deck with an OEM cubby, but what module would I then use to interface with the radio's slave input?

Also, where is everyone mounting the input switch? I like the location in the thread RCH linked for the input, especially since I could probably get another of the modified panel if I wanted to go back to stock, but many of the manufacturers do not seem to put much thought into the looks of the input selector switch.

Would "one of those" work on a 07 trailblazer?

Depends on what radio you have...But probably not.

JPCustoms (the site I linked to) will have the adapter you need though.

Probably this one. (05 Z71, that's the one you probably need as well.).
