New Tooth

So I am going to have to get the tooth right beside my right front tooth pulled. For some reason my gum started to disolve my tooth from the inside out. So they are gonna pull the tooth. Grind all material out of the gum. Somehow put a titanium stud in my jaw and fasten a fake tooth to that stud. Man this really sucks. I am a little nervous about the whole deal. Any body had this done of know how bad it is gonna hurt. Or how long it is going to take???

Here, read this pamphlet..."So You're Getting a Dental Implant..."

It's going to be a drawn out process. The socket where your tooth was has to heal in order to have the post implanted. When all is said and done, it should blend in very well and function just as your natural tooth did.

As far as if it will hurt, dentists today have done a better job of making patients feel more comfortable in the chair. If you're feeling any apprehension about any procedure, request nitrous in addition to the local anesthetic. I don't know of any office that doesn't have it. A lot of dentists now days have music to listen to and even movies to watch to keep the patient's mind off of what's going on. Feel free to ask about those perks if you're not under nitrous.
