Lq4 Vs Lq9

im just wondering, i know the LQ9 (vortec MAX 6.0) has variable valve timing.

does the standard LQ4 6.0L have VVT also or not?

i have the vortec max in my 07 2500HD(didnt think they had that option), a friend of mine is just curious if his 07 classic has VVT on the LQ4 motor. i notice his changed pitch between 4500-5000 and pulls harder similar to how mine runs.

I don't think any lq4 or lq9 has the VVT. I only thought the L92 had it

maybe it was the L92?

from what ive read so far the new 07 6.0's all have VVT

The new engines are the LY6 and the L76. The LY6 is what is used in the new HD trucks, and the L76 is the high output version that is used in the 1500's as the Vortec Max. Both of these new 6.0's have the VVT, the older 6.0 engines used in the classics did not have VVT.
