Oil Change Update

Well I finally changed the oil in my NBS 6.0L, at almost exactly 2000 miles, wish i had done it a little sooner to be honest.

 

Pulled the plug out and there was atleast 1/4" of gunk on the end of it. when i wiped it on the rag it was silvery in color, obvious all the bits of metal that were sheared off during break in. Thank God they put magnets on the end of the plug. So for all you firm believers in the new engines not needing break in periods I hope that changes your view. The oil monitor was only at 75%, but the oil needed changing.

 

Anyway to update, took the truck on about a 120 mile trip this weekend and was doin close to 18 mpg... lovin the fuel economy of the new 6.0

They don't tell ya to properly break in a engine for their health. I just wish more people would listen because those of us that only buy used end up feeling the hurt in the end.

I bought mine used as well, and whoever the guy was that owned it before me did a good job because she still hauls ass at 130K miles.
