2007 Nbs Door Speaker Access

This topic is sort of related to the recent entry asking the speaker size on the 2007 Non-Bose New Body Styles but I thought different enough to start a new topic.

I'm planning to install some new speakers and I'm not quite seeing how to get to them. I'm thinking the door just pops off, but maybe there is something that secures it in place before it comes off. I'm tried a little and it doesn't seem to pop off very easy. Anyone have any experience with these yet? Thanks

I'm all ears as well! I took a quick peek today while I was puting my seat covers on, and I did not see anything obvious like my 04 crew had. Someone want to help us out?

You'll need to look under all of the little covers on the handles and the door as well as prying up the switch bezels to access all of the retaining bolts. Once you find all of them and then remove the little triangular cover at the front of the window (pulls off) and the switches you can begin prying the bottom of the door. Be careful but be firm. Start at the bottom and work up and then work in reverse on the way back. Once inside, I simply left the door handle cable attached and just let the panel hang from it. Have fun with the god awful mounts GM decided to use. A good 6.5" adapter should work for the fronts. I have an extended cab NBS and had to fabricate custom brackets for the rear doors. Not sure how it looks on the CC. Good Luck. Oh, the rears can accept 5.25" or 6.5"s. The front's take 6.5"s
