Hi All,

I'm thinking about a tuned PCM for my NBS 07 Chevy. One of the things that's holding me back is how I'll be able to get required updates/bug fixes as they become available for my truck. Since the NBS 07 is still relatively new, occasionally there are PCM updates that fix minor things that I might be interested in (heard about a battery drain issue recently that was fixed with an update) How would I go about getting such updates applied to my tuned PCM? I assume I'd have to have the dealer wipe my PCM with the latest truck code, and then have it re-turned - but that'd be a PITA. Any insight into this?

I'm leaning towards spending the extra $ to go see Wheatley or Nelson (about the same distance for me to drive to san antonio or houston)

Well, you have plenty of time to think about it. Both Wheatley (Charlie) and Wait4Me (Jesse) have told me they cannot tune the NBS GMs yet. They are waiting for the software. They said it could be weeks or even months!!! And with Wheatley (not sure about Wait4me) you get free updates. I am considering the tuned PCM while keeping my stock PCM for dealer visits etc and for use when I send mine back for updates. Oh, and BTW, I contacted my dealer about the Battery Drain issue and my truck is not included in that TSB.

I cant start a new topic because I am new here so I will ask it here! I have on order an 07 silverado crew cab w/vortech max and 3.73:1 gears. Should I wait for the 08's or should I pick this one up and run with the rebates that will be at the end of the model year. Someone help! Thanks

As far as I know, the 08's will be identical to the 07's. So I would take the 07 and the rebates.

Great truck BTW!!! (Except I'd have gone for the GMC..Obviously...lol)

I do like the shape of the flares on the GMC better but I like the grill on the chevy better once it's "cleaned up" a little!

Bummer... Sounds like I'll be waiting a while for a tune. Probably better, let's me put some more miles on this thing before messing with it too much :happysad:

You may want to check with them about the 4.8l engine. I only asked about the 6.0, and since the new 5.3's and 6.0's have AFM, that could be the holdup on these engines.

Good luck and let me know what you find out.

Looks like a trip to San Antonio will be in my neare future :happysad: I just spoke to them and they said they were able to tune my 07 NBS 4.8 no problem.
