Slight Transmision Leak

Recommended Posts

I have an 04 2500 hd 6.0L truck. I recently installed a hypertech tune and increased shift firmness by 50 percent. Then a little later I started to hear a slight clicking noise when shifted into reverse and given a little gas. I climbed under and found this slight leak where the driveshaft connects with the transmision. Is it a serious problem? Any ideas as to what it could be?

Not a big deal, I wouldn't mess with it until it left a dinner plate size puddle on the ground. I have a similar leak where the drive shaft goes into the front diff. Seeing as it's an '04, is it still under warranty? If it is just put the stock settings back and then take it in.

I have this same problem. The first time, the rear seal went out and puked fluid all under the truck. GMC replaced the seal and now have a slight leak, just enough to keep it damp. No dripping yet, but I am keeping my eye on it. As for the clicking problem, I'd take out the tune and see if there is any difference. If not, Id go get it checked.

Buying used doesn't void the warranty. If it's within 3 years of the original delivery date and 36K miles, you're under warranty!
