Never heard of it.  Then again, I live in southeast MI, not west MI.  My friends who ski either hit Mt. Brighton or Alpine Valley (local) or go up north around Traverse City.

I've never been to the place you linked to myself, but Northern MI has all types of places you'd probably like.

I dont own a snow mobile.  Maybe i could borrow my cousins if he still has it.  Ill talk to him on xmas day

Um, that place is Ok I guess.  It's better for snowboarding and tubing than skiing.  Of course right now it's not good for diddly as we haven't had a flake of snow yet and it's been too warm to make it.

 

Head a bit farther north to the areas around Cadillac and Traverse City for better skiing in the lower peninsula.  Some that come immediately to mind are Crystal Mountain, Sugar Loaf, Caberfae and either of the Boyne resorts.  Nubs Nob is OK, but seems to get clogged with people trying to be seen.

 

When are you coming up?  Maybe we could have a regional GM-TC "meet and greet" somewhere in the northern part of Michigan.

MJ i dont need any big hills.  I have never been skiing and me and my gf wanna start off slow so if the hills are small we dont care

 

Probably 1st or 2nd wk of january we are gonna be going (school starts the 14th )

Timber Ridge would probably be a good place for learning.  Watch for the crowds of ankle biters though.  If I may be so bold, let me encourage you to try snowboarding instead of skiing.  I've done both and enjoy riding the snowboard a lot more.  With the low temps we're supposed to get this coming week they should be able to start making snow tonight and have things going by New Years.

 

Grad school starts for me on the 7th.  If you're up on a weekend, give a shout.  There's lots of places in the K-zoo area where we could gather.

It said at their website they are already making snow.

Why not have 2 broken legs and an arm instead of 1 each haha
