I tore the front body panel or what ever it's called off my truck last weekend. I still had fun and that's what it's all about.

After going up a steep hill the trail turned to the left. I didn't see a small stump to the right. I was going real slow but when I hit, it sounded terrible. I decided to back up and get out to see what I broke. As I backed up the thing came flying off. I think what happened is I caught the bottom on the stump and whe I backed up off it went. It's not as bad as it looks. Some tabs are broke but it still stays on by it's self. I'm not going to bather replacing it. I might add some small bolts to hold it better and that's it.

this leads me to a question that i have wondered about... what does it take to set off the airbags in these trucks? I am going to be plowing snow with mine and was worried that if i hit a curb or something it might set them off... it seems if you did all that damage to your truck and never set them off then i probavly don't have much to worry about...

I think you have to hit pretty hard to set off the air bags. At least hard enough to do some major damage. I'm not sure but I think the air bags will only go off above a certain speed, say 30 mph or so.

My truck looks worse than it is. It's just a big pice of plastic and the truck looks different whithout it. I might call Monday just to see how much one cost. Too much I'am sure.

If he pulled the bumper away from the truck, then the air bags wont go off, if he smacked it in the front pretty hard then they would probably go off...................he probably went over the stump slightly hitting the stump then did the damage when he pulled away........

I would rather have that happen then a door dent from Wal Mart. At least you can say you did it youself and had fun doing it.

Yesterday I called the dealer just to see how much a new pice would cost. I thought it would be really expencive and I would have to get it painted too. They said it was ? and comes color matched. If I shoped around I could probably get it cheaper.

I agree stepside z. If I have a big dent or scratch I will get it fixed asap. But most people just live with door dings even though they annoy you every time you look at them
