I've been searching for an ipod intergration setup for awhile with nothing good coming up. I am currently plugging it into the acc. port and it works ok, but i'm stuck with using the nano's small screen, which is tough. I found, what appears to be, a integration setup that allows the ipod to be controlled through the nav's touchscreen, and reasonalble at $129, and charges it. don't know if i'm allowed to promote a product here, but here it is

I installed one from PAC Audio. It works very well. I tried the kit from Coastaltech (same company that makes the Lockpick). It had quite a bit of static and could only be controlled through the head unit. The PAC version allows you to choose whether you control it through the head unit OR the Ipod itself. No static either. They are installed in about 2 minutes. All you do is release the glove compartment down to access the XM unit behind it, unplug the harness from the XM box, plug in the T-harness between the XM box and factory wiring harness, plug the T part of the harness into the Ipod module, attach the Ipod cable and that is it. No splicing, no cutting. Can be removed in less than a minute if needed.

08 Burban brochure says you can get the "personal audio link (PAL) that will let you navigatge your ipod with either the radio or steering wheel mounted controls."

 

Now that would be cool. Maybe I will have to convince the wife that the Denali needs to be an 08...she loves her ipod. I hate itunes though.

The PAL is an accessory that you can get with most new GM vehicles, if GM will ever release it... The brochure for the '07 GMT 900 says it will be available spring '07, but nothing yet...

I think there are also now aftermarket accessories that do the same thing, but I'm just starting to look into it (now tired of waiting for GM). Most I've found are for the nav systems. Does anybody know who makes one for a regular CD player (I do have XM)?

I found this on another site. Any idea how to know if this one works on the GMT900's? Is there even more than one PAL? Could it be that this would work for any radio with the LAN BUS system?

i ordered one a few minutes ago from gm parts direct and I hope it will work for my 07. i dont have XM and I also hope thats not a problem.

The lockpick from costal is horriable, very hard to navigate through menus on the touch screen, i called and told him i wan'y happy and he said to send it back. So i did a few days ago..

 

How is the PAC does it operate on both the touch and the ipod, do any of the steering wheel controls work, does it interupt the xm at all. With the lockpick from costal you had to go to xm then select ipod as the source, but if i was just scrolling through my presets it would get caught on the first xm preset thinking that it was the ipod and then i couldn't move on unless i manually touched the screen on the next fav screen......it was a pain....stactic too.

2nd that. I forgot to reply but I experienced the same thing and send it back within days. I've been waiting for the GM PAL thing. Let us know if it works

So which is the best way to hook the ipod up and control from the deck? Has anyone used the one from JP customs in the first post? Seems like good combo price w/ lockpick. That means DVD works in gear right?

 

I just picked up a Sierra Denali and want to also add back up camera. Best place & price? I already have the plate frame cam-just need to wire it in.

 

 

On another note, anyone able to switch the Factory Nav deck to Sirius??

just order the PAC it looks much better.. part number IPAC-GM3 and harness GM3XM, should have if for the weekend, 127.00 shipped on ebay

      Thanks; I looked there a few minutes, and I think I can find something. I really never looked there, as I thought it was stuff like PTO/aftermarket bodies/accessories like snow plows.

      This is a 1/2 ton thing ONLY.  All HDs 2020-2026 have the two speed transfer case, with Autotrac as an option.     1/2 tons 2019-2026, regular 4x4s come with a single speed case (no 4LO!), and trucks with Z71 ordered, or all Trail Boss trucks come with the 2 speed case.  2 speed case is also an option on WT, and is also standard on High Country.

      2013 5.3 still to this day calls for the PF48 filter.  Which as a 15psi bypass pressure.     There is a TSB, 17-NA-157 that talks about the PF-63 and PF-64 filters which have a higher bypass rating of 22psi.    TSB HERE - temp.xml   "Beginning in 2012, the oil pumps began to regulate main gallery feedback instead of pump out pressure. This means that the oil pump now does not begin to regulate until pressure is built up to the main gallery. This change reduces the amount of time it takes to provide oil to the engine bearing and lifters during extreme cold start conditions.  Main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are present on the following engine families which use Spin-on oil filters: Small Gas Engine (SGE), Large Gas Engine (LGE), High Feature (HFV6) Gen2 and Small Block Gen5 gasoline engines. These engines with the main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are factory built with an ACDelco® oil filters"   It also calls out what engines use those filters.  The gen 4 small blocks were not on that list (LMG, LC9, L9H, L92, L94, L20, L96).  Gen 5 small blocks use the higher pressure filter.          That all said...   Your 7045 Napa filter is the PF63 equivalent, with 22psi bypass.  You are already using the higher bypass pressure filter.  You CAN keep using it, you don't technically have to use it though.

      Do you know WHY the filter relief setting was increased to 22 psig?    When the new system goes into the second stage the pump volume ramps up considerably. It was found that the 15 psi filter bypass setting put the filter in bypass on a warm engine when the second stage was activated. Raising the filter bypass setting forced the filter to do what it designed to do. Filter. Preventing debris from circulating during high load, high rpm operation.    So next question is how did GM find this out? VLOM/lifter failures and a deep dive by Melling Corp.    Last question. Is it required? Look at it like this; a motor may be equipped with a rev limiter. But it only works if the set point in reached. That 22 psig setting only matters if the pressure differential across the filter media exceeds 15 psig during normal warm operation. Second stage kicks in around 3000-3500 rpm.    I can't answer your question because I don't know you and how you use the truck. But I think there is enough information here to let you decide for yourself. 😉
