V6 - V8 Transmissions Differences?

the trans has decided to retire on my trusty sierra after 280,000kms.

a friend had a low k trans but it is from a 99 4.3V6.

is this trans going to be compatable with my 00 5.3 V8 and the obvious power difference?

is there any differences internally between the V6 and V8 transmissions?

or is the 4L60E the same for all applications?

my gpa a former gm mechanic says the clutch pack is alot different and he knows his way around tranny with the best of them (used to tear down and rebuild 2 trannys a night after supper if he had someone to wash parts for him) but he never has even been in a 4l60e he only worked on powerglides turbo 350 and 400s and had a 700r4 apart once (turbo 400s and 700r4 are basically the same) but dont take my word for it hes never had one of these newer trannies apart and anyways why would they name it exactly the same if they had different power ratings?????
