Trip To The Dealer For Engine Light

Recommended Posts

I Had the engine light come on the other day and stopped at a friends shop to read what codes the computer was throwing. Here is what it read:

P0101 - Mass Air flow circuit out of range

P0102 - Mass air flow signal low

P0300 - Random cylinder misfire

So I took the truck today to the dealer, (extended warranty), they came back with a intake gasket leak. Does this sound right? Its going back in on Tuesday to get fixed.

Thanks,

I did not have any of those codes pop up when My intake gaskets went. Usually is is a lean condition in right or left bank as well as o2 sensor codes. Besides the mass air flow circuit is ahead of the intake. so why would a blown intake gasket cause your M.A.F. sensor to go weird? Good thing you have the extended warranty.

Well, I dropped the truck off to the dealer at 7 am. Received a phone call @ 9 am that my intake manifold was warped, they had to order a new one. So, I went to the dealer to get some tools off of the truck and they had it in the shop with the whole top of the motor off. I guess I winced when I saw my truck all apart because the mechanic, John, said, "this is yours? Dont worry, no big deal. Now John was about 55 years old and 280 lbs. He looked like he slept on a bed made out of pistons tops. The next day they called me @ 1:30 to tell me that my truck was ready. I was very suprised. Very impressed. The truck runs better with a smoother idle. I will have to say that it was a rather pleasent experience.
