Power Windows Getting Slow

I have a o4 burb. The power windows are going slower and slower. Car on or off its the same. any words of direction

I would guess that the motors are going. Probably got some water between the weatherstripping while window was down or something. Water now corroding it. My 97 Econoline van is the same way.

Its mostly the right Pas side frt but the others arent far behind

Wow just today I was wondering what was up with same window! I would have thought that the drivers window would go first!

i have an 01 silverado 1500 and i have replaced the drives side window components and my dad has an 01 HD crew cab and he has replaced the driver's side, passenger side and rear passenger side window components. They started off by getting slower n slower till they just wouldnt move. We talked to a guy at gm and he said they say many of these but because its not a safety issue there is no recall. Just my $.02

My 01 Sierra passenger window is getting slower to go up, going down seems to be okay. Did you guys do the replacement work yourselves or did you have a dealer do it? Is it a difficult job, anyone have a good set of directions on how to do the work? Where did you get the replacement parts? Part Numbers?

I got the parts from gm and i did the work myself. I figured i saved myself a lot of labor. The job isnt to bad. Its tedious becuase of the door panels but in my opinion its worth keeping the money in my pocket rather than giving it to some wrench to do.

Our 2005 Tahoe that we just bought did the exact same thing until today. I noticed that if I started them at the same time, up or down, the drivers side opened or closed at least 2 seconds faster than the passengers side. I rolled the window down today and cleaned the track that it runs in. It looked clean, but when I ran a rag down it, it was horrible. I got it as clean as I could and ran a rag with Rain X on it, down the felts in the slots and it took care of it. They are exactly the same speed now. Hopefully that was all it was, I'd hate to have to replace the motors, I did it once in a Bronco many years ago and I swore that I've never do it again.

these arent that bad to do, unless your doors are covered in dynamatt like mine(3 weekds prior to motor going out) just make sure you tape the widow up while replacing it all. i think i got my parts from a1electric. quality parts for about 100$.

Clean the guides. Take a slim flat head screw driver, put a cloth, like tee shirt material, over it and clean the rubber inside real good. Go all around the window opening. Next take a can of silicone spray and with the tube on, put a few bursts on the guides and operate the window a few times. I have done this on various cars and trucks and it works. Dont go buying motors you dont need. Unless you like to spend $$$.

My passenger side is really slow, but it gets a little over 3/4 the way up and makes a cracking noise, but the window doesnt have any cracks in it. Does it every single time.

OK.. I have similar problems on my 2003 Z71 yukon & then some! My passenger side is ok going down, but slow to go up. ( I might try cleaning the guides like JHM said to see if it helps for that one, otherwise i'll replace myself)

Now i'll go to my backseat window problems.

On the backseat passenger side; I can operate this window from the driver's controls up and down. BUT from the backseat I can only roll this window down.

Now on the backseat window drivers side; I can only operate this window to go up from the driver's controls. So the only way I can get it down is to reach back and hit the switch. But the weird thing is, it wont let me roll it up from the switch on the back door ... see my confusion? lol
