Squeaking (rubbing) Noise From Steering Wheel

Hello again,

 

Over the past couple weeks I've had a squeaking (rubbing) noise coming from the steering wheel of by 05 Silverado when turning the wheel. I took it to my local dealer yesterday to see if we could correct the problem but had no luck, shortly after I left it started again.

 

They pulled the front of the steering wheel off and rearranged some of the wires associated with the steering wheel button controls. Supposedly a bulletin has been released by GM stating that these wires often will begin rubbing against the spring and ring that enables the steering wheel to turn easier.

 

The noise isn't associated with anything that would affect the steering or front suspension as it seems to not be hurting anything, just simply an annoying noise. Something else must be the source of the rubbing but I don't know what it could be. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions that I could try to eliminate the noise it would be greatly appreciated.
