well last year this kid talked s**t to me the whole year how his 02 mustang conv. v6 could beat me in a race LOL!!!! LMAO!!!! and he thought he could beat my sisters 02 nissan maxima! hahha well anyways he thought he was hot s**t and kept at it so i took him up but then he backed out so this year the kid comes to school in a 97 or newer f150 ext cab short bed almost positive its a 5.4L and it has no exhaust anyway hes cockin off in the lot revin up nd stuff as im walkin out to my truck and gives me that look ( im going to beat you sometime its on as soon as were at a light) so i continue to walk to my truck and start my truck up.....everyday ppl look at my truck when it starts cuz the chev sounds B/A so heres the deal how badly will i beat him? i know these things are slow i used a g-timer this summer and ran a 7.6 0-60 and a 15.7 1/4 @ 88 MPH obviously this is not totally accurate but i want to waste him and make some money or somthing i know if he has a chance its low end esp if he has the 5.4 w/ 4.10s or w/e ford uses. if i can get him to go to 100 i got him waaaaaaay beat and i would love to do a 60-100 pull (thats my sweet spot) anyways let me know what you guys think...i think i have it won already without touchin the gas

Especially that year Ford...It wasn't one of their best years I'll tell you that. I would say you would run away by a couple truck lengths.

Ford trucks = slow. That exempts anything SVT supercharged....wait, what don't they supercharge. Oh yeah and the harley f150s....there supercharged too. If Ford wants to attempt to make anything fast they just slap a blower on it and call it a day.

 

IMO the rounded body style F150's 97-2004? looked great, but he's lucky if he's even putting 190hp to the wheels. My buddys 05 5.4l 4x4 is a dog and then some.

That would only be true if his friends truck had a pair of testicles, which it doesn't. His friends truck has a gapeing hole between it's fenders. You can observe this by un-doing the hood and taking a peek for yourself. It generally leaks fluids when reved hard. Every once in a while it's tranny counterpart leaks red synthetic fluids aswell. Them d**n Fords.

yea nice! so you guys think i will beat him huh....well funny story tonight a raced a 98 ford escort zx2 5 speed and was thinking i was going to lose (hes a very good driver and sadly that car is no slouch 0-60 in 7.4...anyways he had me off the line with his launch and then we pulled even but i was a length behind and at about 60 it was like he fell flat on his face and i had nitrous i walked away with ease all the way to 100 when we stopped and i had two lengths on him. but anyways i think the race will go down tom. night and i figure the higher the speed the bigger the ass whooping

With an adjustable seat, the f150's allows great knee comfort and can be enjoyed in a layed back and relaxed manner, so bowties can enjoy the vaccume like sucking sounds from mouth of the throttle body. But hey don't give the 5.4l too much throttle it might blow a radiator hose and shoot warm fluids all over the place.

 

All in all just race that F150 and shoot exhaust gasses all over his windshield. When you let off of the throttle let him enjoy a good back fire or two.

 

 

edit: you have nitrous? There is officially no competition. Don't worry about racing SVT Ford Focus, Taurus, or Contours, their all dogs. Same for the Taurus SHO's.

no i dont have nitrous but it felt like it when i was racing the escort zx2 5 speed cuz we were even up to 60 and then bam i was flying by like you wouldnt believe. and he had no excuses. i was suprised though because the faster the race went the better it got for me and im in a truck!!!! geez these 5.3Ls run like car v8s

With these LS-based engines, they normally don't jump off the line, but when up to speed, watch the F out.

Yeah you don't really think of LS engines as a kick you in the ass kind of engines. They're a lot of fun when they downshift though (for those of us with enough traction... I hear that its not that hard for modified vettes to break 'em lose in second and third at speed).

 

Thats not saying you can't get 'em to really hit you off the line if you want them to. Get a tune and a high stall converter and you'll get a lot of torque at launch.

yea there sweet thats forsure although sometimes i do wish they were a little more torquey down low but up high they run sweet
