Height Improvement

I am looking to raise my 05 2WD GMC CC from its "low rider looks". I plan on replacing the stock 245 tires with 265 or 275, not expecting much noticeable difference. Would really like to get it up mabe 2-3 more inches. Looking for what would be the easiest and best (maybe most affordable) way to lift it up. Also looking for something of a do-it-your-self kit. I don't haul or tow anything considerable, if that should be considered.

Also body vs. suspension? Pros - Cons?

Body lifts IMO are something to be avoided unless you have a show truck. With a body lift, you have to extend all the cables and whatnot(like the throttle and brake cable) and if it isn't done right, you no longer have a very safe truck. Also you would prob have to fabricate brackets for the bumper, so you don't have a huge gaping hole between the body and the bumper. Granted some kits do come with the brackets, but you will have to do your research before doing something like this. Also resale for suspension lifted trucks is higher than body lifted ones.

Can you tell I don't like body lifts? :tumbleweed:

another thing about body lifts on chevy's, they show way too much frame. I dont know how many times Ive seen a truck lifted and then noticed all the frame showing and being like...ahhhh come on man!. LOL. I hate Body Lifts too.
